CSHPS Annual Meeting
The Canadian Society for the History and Philosophy of Science (CSHPS) is holding its annual conference June 4-6, 2026 at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
We are grateful to our co-hosts, the Dalhousie Philosophy Department, and to Dalhousie Conference Services for making this meeting possible. Please note that an independent meeting is the only possibility for 2026 since the Canadian Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences (CFHSS) is not organizing a Congress 2026 event.
We are also happy to announce that we will be joined in Halifax by three other CFHSS member organizations: CPA (Canadian Philosophy Association, meeting June 6-9), CSHPM (Canadian Society for the History and Philosophy of Mathematics, meeting June 4-6) and CSSPE (Canadian Society for the Study of Practical Ethics, meeting June 7-9). The overlap will allow us to enjoy many of the benefits that we associate with Congress, including some jointly organized sessions.

The Richard Hadden Award for best student paper at the CSHPS Annual Meeting.
Travel Grants
- For the 2025 meeting, CSHPS is offering bursaries of up to $150 to graduate students and independent scholars to help defray the costs of registration fees and travel, on condition that they apply for Early Bird registration for Congress prior to March 31 (to get the discounted rate). Up to 30 awards will be offered and will be available upon request on a first come first served basis. Applications may be submitted to the CSHPS Treasurer either before or after the 2025 meeting. Receipts for registration and travel expenses are required, but may be provided after the 2025 meeting. Applications and receipts must be received by July 1, 2025.
We encourage donations to the student travel fund. You can donate any amount ($10, $20, or even $100) secure in the knowledge that all proceeds will help students come to the congress to present their work.
